4.3.5 Letters patent

Cite letters patent consistently with the rule for citing modern statutes (rule 4.1.4). Letters patent are divided into clauses that take the abbreviation “cl” or “cls” in the plural.

Eg Letters Patent Constituting the Office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief of the Dominion of New Zealand 1917, cl 2.
