NZ Law Foundation Doctoral Scholarship awarded to Claire Browning

The Law Foundation is pleased to announce that Claire Browning has been awarded a Doctoral Scholarship to research constitutional relationships and Māori law, asking: How do tikanga Māori concepts of kaitiakitanga and kinship alter our constitutional understanding of relationships?

Her thesis will address three relationships:

1. of the Crown and Māori;
2. of us all with the world beyond human kind; and
3. of tikanga Māori with ture Pākehā.

Claire is undertaking her PhD at Otago University’s Law Faculty.
