The standard of mooting has always been very high and the feedback received from the moooters is that they all benefit from the experience. The experience ensures that a strong group of family law advocates are being produced from all the universities in NZ. Judge Mahony's goal of strong and effective advocacy in the Family court is being realised through this competition. The Family Court is the court that most New Zealanders are likely to come in contact with during their lifetime.
