Podcasts available for AMINZ Conference presentations

Podcasts are now available for presentations given at the Conference of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand (AMINZ) in Wellington on 2-4 August 2012.

Of particular interest is the keynote address “Global to Local” given by Professor Ingeborg Schwenzer, Chair of the Advisory Council for the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

The Law Foundation funded the members of the CISG Advisory Council to host their annual meeting in Wellington and to give presentations at the AMINZ conference.

Dr Petra Butler, Victoria University Associate Professor of Law, said their visit provided a unique opportunity for the New Zealand legal and business community to hear about the advantages that CISG and international arbitration have to offer. This is particularly important given the proportion of international arbitration disputes that are governed by CISG.

The CISG Advisory Council was hosted by Victoria University’s Faculty of Law in conjunction with law firms Russell McVeagh and Chapman Tripp.

A full list of AMINZ Conference podcasts is available on the Victoria University web site.

The Law Foundation provided up to $46,375 to bring CISG Advisory Council members to New Zealand for their annual meeting. This also extended to them participating in the AMINZ conference and enabled videoing of their presentations for live streaming and podcasts.
