Popular "Know Your Rights" TV series ends mid-July

The final 4 episodes of television series “Know Your Rights” will screen from 28-June to 19-July on Triangle Television.

This very successful 13-part series has been aimed at improving access to a range of legal information, particularly for those who have English as a second language or who do not have ready access to the law.

The Law Foundation has provided funding support for the production of this series, presented by Auckland barrister and journalist Catriona MacLennan. Law Foundation Director, Lynda Hagen says “This series fills an important need as people in low-income and disadvantaged communities often lack understanding of their fundamental legal rights”.

Presenter, Ms MacLennan, has worked in South Auckland over many years and has dealt with a wide range of legal problems commonly encountered by people on low incomes, including problems with oppressive loan agreements and difficulties with benefit entitlements.
