NZ Law Foundation International Arbitration Lecture by Professor Catherine Rogers
26 November 2013 UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND Professor Catherine Rogers of Penn State University is giving this year’s lecture. Her topic is ‘Procedural Arrangements as a Window into the Soul of International Arbitration Regimes: Arbitrator Selection, Transparency and Stakeholder Interests’. While in New Zealand, Professor Rogers will also present a paper on ‘Third Party Funding’ to AMINZ* breakfast meetings in Auckland and Wellington, on 25 and 28 November respectively. At 5.30pm on 28 November Professor Rogers will speak at Victoria University Law School. This will be an interview-style talk about the Jerusalem Arbitration Centre (JAC), conducted by broadcaster and lawyer Linda Clark. Professor Rogers was heavily involved in the establishment of JAC, an initiative that has been described as a ‘ground-breaking dispute resolution forum designed to foster trade and perhaps a greater level of cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians’. The 2013 NZ Law Foundation International Arbitration Lecture will be held 6pm Tuesday 26 November at the Stone Lecture Theatre at the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Law. The New Zealand Law Foundation is funding up to $14,000 towards bringing Professor Rogers to New Zealand for this event. |
