Law Foundation awards $230,000 annually for Scholarships. This year five scholarships will be awarded, three of which are now open for applications:
Shadow Report Award – closing date is Friday 1st August
$10,000 is awarded annually, to help human rights advocates report on New Zealand’s compliance with its international treaty obligations.
International Research Fellowship – closing date 1st September
Up to $125,000 is awarded annually. This is New Zealand’s premier legal research award. It enables research in New Zealand or overseas that aims to make a significant contribution to an area of New Zealand law.
Cleary Memorial Prize – closing date 30th September
$5,000 is awarded annually. Applications are open to any young barrister and/or solicitor admitted during the period of three years ending on 31 August in the year of the award.
