University of Canterbury - Seminar Series: Trusting the middleman - perceptions of justice and ombudsman services

22 FEBRUARY 2016, SEMINAR AT VUW WELLINGTON

A lunch time seminar titled Citizens’ Perceptions of the Legitimacy of Ombudsmen and their Decision-Making will be presented by Dr Naomi Creutzfeldt, ESRC Research Fellow at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford and Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster.

The seminar takes a closer look at the institution of ombudsmen – an official body that investigates individuals’ complaints against a company (private sector ombudsman) or a public authority (public sector ombudsman) through the lens of procedural justice and legal consciousness. Dr Creutzfeldt’s visit to New Zealand includes delivering presentations at the following events:

The Law Foundation is providing funding of up to $7,000 towards bringing Dr Creutzfeldt to New Zealand for this seminar series.
