Listen to Professor Jeremy Waldron's lecture "Polls Apart - Reclaiming respect in a time of polarised politics"

Professor Jeremy Waldron gave the Maxim Institute’s 10th Sir John Graham Lecture in Auckland on Friday 28th July 2017. His lecture set out to address the many divides in contemporary political culture, and suggest a framework of civility that enables political leaders and voters to maintain both our deeply held convictions and our humanity.

Professor Waldron is University Professor at New York University School of Law, teaching legal and political philosophy. Previously he has held positions as University Professor in the School of Law at Columbia University and Chichele Professor of Social and Political Theory at the University of Oxford (All Souls College).

Sadly, the Maxim Institute has since advised Sir John Graham passed away on 3rd August 2017. They acknowledged the many ways he served, led and loved his fellow New Zealanders, and allowed his name to be attached to this lecture series.

The Law Foundation contributed $6,435 towards bringing Professor Waldron to New Zealand to give this lecture.
