Law Foundation Scholarships/Awards - Applications closing soon - Don't miss out!

Deadlines are approaching for all remaining 2018 Law Foundation scholarships and awards.

Further information and details about the awards and their application deadlines can be found below:

Shadow Report Award – 1st August

This award focuses on human rights issues by providing $10,000 towards research for the preparation of a shadow report and/or attendance at the United Nations to present the report to the UN monitoring bodies for human rights treaties.

Doctoral Scholarship in Law – 31st August

This scholarship provides an additional $10,000 each year for up to three years as a ‘top up’ to the award of a NZ University PhD Scholarship.
There are two application deadlines each year: 28th February and 31st August.

International Research Fellowship Te Karahipi Rangahau ? Taiao – 1st September

This is New Zealand’s premier legal research award worth up to $125,000. This fellowship is awarded annually to enable in-depth legal research that will make a significant contribution to New Zealand. Anyone with the required abilities can apply, including legal practitioners, academics, judges or government officials.

Cleary Memorial Prize – 30th September

This $5,000 prize, in memory of Sir Timothy Cleary, is awarded annually to a recently-admitted young barrister or solicitor who shows the most future promise in the legal profession.

Final 2018 deadline for all Grant Applications – 12th October

This includes: – grants related to Legal Research, General Law and Conferences.

Applications for the Ethel Benjamin Scholarship have closed for 2018. The deadline is 31st March each year.

Each year the Law Foundation makes available more than $210,000 for scholarship winners.
